The Rehab4Life Scheme

What is it?

The Rehab4Life scheme is for people who have suffered a brain injury, caused through the fault of someone else. WE:

if you already have a lawyer who is a Rehab4Life panel member, work with them to expertly risk assess your case; if you do not have a lawyer we will help you to identify and instruct a leading neurolawyer, from our panel, to fight for you.

facilitate tailor made multi disciplinary neurorehabilitation, quickly, when it is needed most, to help you, and your family, get back on your feet, (and facilitate payment for those services –typically involving many tens of thousands of pounds!)

facilitate payment of some or all of your loss of earnings (up to £25,000) whilst you are undergoing rehabilitation, to lessen the stress and worry on you, and those close to you, of potential debt and to allow you to concentrate on getting better

facilitate the implementation of a unique policy of insurance to protect you against having to repay any of the above in the unlikely event of you losing your case

The Need for the scheme

1 million people per year in the UK attend hospital for head injury

150,000 will suffer mild head injury resulting in unconsciousness for less than 15 minutes

10,000 will suffer moderate head injury with unconsciousness for up to 6 hours and after 5 years will still have physical or psychological problems

11,600 will suffer severe head injury and remain unconscious for 6 hours or more and after 5 years only 15% will have returned to work

Research shows that timely and comprehensively intensive rehabilitation programmes greatly improve overall physical and psychological recovery in all TBI cases.

In one study in 2005, 89% of patients with moderate to severe TBI were able to work or study or participate in volunteer activities following an intensive post acute interdisciplinary 6 week rehabilitation programme compared to only 55% of patients undergoing conventional rehabilitation through the general health care system.
[Arch Phys Med Rehabilitation 2005 Dec 86(12): 2296-302]

“In the UK optimal recovery in TBI cases is a post code lottery ... such post acute NHS facilities as exist are few and far between and often in less than desirable premises and woefully lacking ... things are improving but we are a long way off yet”
Professor Mike Barnes, Consultant in Neurorehabilitation and President of the World Federation of Neurorehabilitation.

What rehabilitation choices does a victim have right now?

When you are ready to be discharged from hospital after your accident, what do you do and where do you go when you need multi-disciplinary intensive rehabilitation?

The NHS? Possibly, but only if available in your area - the big problem is the “post code lottery” for NHS brain injury rehabilitation services.

Private neurorehabilitation? Maybe, but will the other party’s insurance company be paying for it? Possibly, subject to liability and subject to how much they are prepared to pay (they have their profits to think about!) - but even if they do eventually agree to pay for it, they gain control of the process and you are at their mercy and, of course, there are the long delays and uncertainty.

Paying for it yourself? Private rehabilitation facilities are very costly and usually prohibitive to the ordinary person, unless a significant interim payment from the other party’s insurance company becomes available at the right time to be of the most help. This is rare.

The overriding problem is that a victim has no control, no real choice and is at the mercy of insurance companies who are operating to their own agenda.

Do I have any other choices?

Absolutely, yes! The Rehab4Life Scheme, the road to recovery where:

you are in control
you get to choose
there are no long delays or uncertainties
you are not part of a postcode lottery
your chances of a better recovery and productivity are substantially increased
you get peace of mind and financial security during your recovery
you get exclusive claimant based professionalism and dedication to rehabilitation
you get the UK’s leading neurolawyers to fight for you
you get the UK’s leading neurorehabilitation clinical and therapy experts to engineer your recovery

Win Win situation - an important point to remember!

If you win your case, you ultimately receive maximum compensation to allow you to get on with the rest of your life

If you lose your case, and don’t receive any compensation, the scheme doesn’t cost you anything – so, you have nothing to lose and everything to gain. You will have benefited from very costly intensive rehabilitation that you wouldn’t otherwise have been able to undergo and will have received loss of earnings payments up to £25,000 which effectively don't have to be repaid by you, because you are insured under the scheme.

What does our service cost you, the victim? Nothing. We don’t charge you a single penny.
